Deconstruction of a Magazine Cover 2 of 3

  • I decided to go for a complete different magazine style to the previous one to deconstruct the cover for which was pop to a hip-hop cover. This gives me a wide spread of knowing the different techniques in each genre  and will help me to decide what genre i want to pick in the end.
  • The masthead is white and you can clearly see it on the background. The typeface choice is very unique and it is a very wide and bold font so you can easily see it on a shelf and read from a distance.
  • There is a variety of fonts so it makes the cover look interesting. The 'Young Jeezy' text is a different font to the rest so it can separate itself from other stories and because its the main cover story which relates to the central image.
  • The colour theme for this cover is white, black and yellow and this is so the magazine becomes more recognizable from its theme colours.
  • Young Jeezy stands out by wearing black on the lighter background which is very effective as it draws your attention to him straight away.
  • The featured stories are to the space on the left of him so it looks neat and orderly and they are also black and have a very bold and unique font.
  • The main image is Young Jeezy, a recognizable hip-hop artist and he will attract a lot of people as he has a huge fan base.
